Understanding CRS Trends
CRS cutoff scores are not fixed — they fluctuate based on how many candidates are in the pool, how frequently IRCC holds draws, and which categories are being selected. Understanding these trends is important for timing your Express Entry profile improvements.
The biggest driver of CRS trends is the balance between how many candidates join the pool versus how many invitations IRCC issues. When draws are paused (as during COVID-19), scores spike. When IRCC issues large numbers of ITAs, scores drop.
