Who I Am
Hi, I’m Sonya
I was born on May 5, 1990 in India and moved to Canada in 2014. I completed my bachelor’s degree in 2017. Rank10.ca is something I run together with my husband — it’s a project we both care about deeply.
I’ve been interested in content creation for a long time. Back in 2009, I ran a blog about the music industry — but life got busy with studies, family, and everything in between, so I couldn’t keep it going. Later, I started a YouTube channel where I shared my food recipes, because cooking has always been something I love. That channel is currently on pause — my husband and I are expecting a baby, so things have naturally slowed down on that front. But the passion for sharing useful content never went away. It just found a new home here.

Our Story
It all started with our weekend adventures
My husband and I have a simple routine that we genuinely enjoy — every weekend, we go out to explore. It could be a mall, a café, a restaurant, or a new part of the city. And it’s not always about shopping or eating. A lot of the time, we just go for the environment, the vibe, and the experience of being somewhere nice. Cafés, for example — we love going for a good coffee and just enjoying the time together.
Over time, we started noticing something. You’d hear about a restaurant, go there excited, and the food or service would be nothing like what people said. It happened enough times that we started doing our own research before going anywhere — checking ratings, reading through real user experiences, looking for patterns. That habit became the foundation of Rank10.ca.
We wanted to build something that helps other people skip that disappointment — a place where rankings and recommendations are backed by real research, not just surface-level opinions.

One of the things that sets our content apart is that we write from real experience. My husband and I have run a small reselling business, and it taught us a lot about how small businesses actually work in Canada — the opportunities, the challenges, and what it really takes to get started.
When we write about business ideas or share tips on starting something in Canada, it comes from a genuine place. We share our own thoughts and what has worked for us — not just generic advice pulled from the internet.
