What is the Canadian Experience Class?
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is the most popular Express Entry immigration pathway for people already living and working in Canada. Unlike the Federal Skilled Worker Program which targets international applicants, CEC is designed specifically for candidates who have already demonstrated their ability to work and integrate in Canada.
To qualify for CEC, you need at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years, in an occupation classified as TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 under the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
• Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) holders with 1+ year of skilled work
• LMIA-based temporary foreign workers in TEER 0–3 occupations
• Open work permit holders (spouses, graduates) who worked in skilled roles
• Intra-company transferees with Canadian experience
